Every year, the MTU Department of Military Science donates a portion of the HAMR proceeds to a local Keweenaw Peninsula non-profit organization. This year, we have partnered with the Copper Country Humane Society.
The Copper Country Humane Society is an organization dedicated to the welfare of animals in the Keweenaw Peninsula. With donations, they care for animals veterinary needs, including providing a spay/neuter program and hosting vaccination clinics. In the Copper Country, they tend to over 900 animals annually and operate as a “no time limit” shelter, meaning long-term residents are given the opportunity to find forever homes.
